Run under the auspices of the South Eastern Australia Region of the Horseless Carriage Club of America<\/strong>, this year’s event will be based in Moss Vale, NSW.<\/p>\n Surrounded by rolling farmlands, neat vineyards and meandering waterways, Moss Vale is a great base for exploring the region, with leafy streets lined with colonial buildings, chic boutiques and delicious restaurants.<\/p>\n This event is called a Creepy Crawly<\/strong><\/em> because it is primarily designed for the less powerful veteran cars. However, if you don\u2019t have one, or one isn\u2019t running, you can bring a more powerful veteran car BUT don\u2019t then complain that the runs are too short. The event is being run in the Southern Highlands region of New South Wales so although we have chosen relatively flat routes you will have to change gears occasionally.<\/p>\n Acknowledgement<\/strong><\/p>\n This rally will take you to many attractions that have significant entry fees. However, this rally will be very affordable due to the generous support of the Paul Butler Bequest administered by the National Trust (NSW).<\/p>\n Our heartfelt thanks to the National Trust. Yes, we are going to have a hands on introduction to croquet.<\/p>\n I believe that as you get better it\u2019s a very tactical game but we won\u2019t get quite that far in one session. Please note that flat heeled shoes \u2013 sneakers are required<\/strong> to enter the courts.<\/p>\n Then a short drive to Golden Vale Homestead<\/a>, a National Trust property described as \u201cAn English pleasure ground in the heart of Sutton Forest\u201d.<\/p>\n Saturday 21 November<\/span> We then head to the Southern Highlands Botanic Gardens for lunch before heading into Bowral to experience the amazing Fairground Follies<\/a>.<\/p>\n It is quite probably the best collection in the world of large scale mechanical music machines such as dance hall organs, violin playing machines and so, so much more. Sunday 22 November<\/span> Then visit Berrima Courthouse Museum before dining in one of the many historic cafes and pubs. <\/strong>On Saturday we head to Bowral. Our first stop is another National Trust property, Retford Park House<\/a>, for a tour of the house and a stroll through the gardens. It was built in 1887 by the Hordern family and lavishly redesigned by James Fairfax in the 1960s.<\/p>\n

<\/strong>Sunday morning we head to the historic town of Berrima where we will have a tour of Harper\u2019s Mansion<\/a>, a beautiful mansion built in 1834 with charming gardens and one of the largest hedge mazes in Australia, all overlooking historic Berrima.<\/p>\nSuggested accommodation<\/span><\/h1>\n
